The Government of Sierra Leone has officially declared Monday, 17th June 2024, as a nationwide public holiday in observance of the Feast of Eid-Ul-Adha.

This announcement provides an opportunity for citizens to celebrate and partake in the significant religious festivities associated with this sacred occasion.

The notice Reads;

The General Public is hereby informed that the Feast of Eid-Ul-Adha will be observed on Sunday 16th June 2024.

Accordingly, Monday 17th June 2024 will be a public holiday nationwide.

Eid-Ul-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” is marked by special prayers, feasts, and charitable activities, reflecting the spirit of sacrifice, compassion, and solidarity. It is a time for Muslims around the world to remember the importance of faith and obedience to God, as well as the values of generosity and community support.
