The Sierra Leone Local Content Agency (SLLCA) together with the National Investment Board (NIB), the Sierra Leone Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SLIEPA), and the African Development Bank (AfDB) held a National Project Steering Committee meeting on the 16th February 2023,
The National Project Steering Committee meeting took place at the New Hotel in Brookfields, Freetown.
The meeting was geared at updating stakeholders on the result of the second year of AFDB program support to SLIEPA to attract FDI into Sierra Leone, as well as giving insight into the 2023 activity implementation plan.
The meeting was led by the International Consulting Firm, WAVTEQ and was well attended by senior government officials.
The National Investment Board (NIB) Executive Director, speaking to stakeholders at the event, reiterated his commitment to ensuring synergy in the working together of relevant stakeholders, especially the Sierra Leone Local Content Agency.
Director-General of SLLCA, Fodeba Daboh spoke on the work of the Agency and its functions in ensuring that first consideration is given to all Sierra Leoneans in the job market and procurement tendering processes so that they will take the lead to transform the economy.
The African Development Bank made presentations on policy reviews and the milestones achieved so far by SLIEPA and now NIB in terms of working with the private sector investors to transform the economy.
