The Government of Sierra Leone has officially declared Thursday, May 1st, 2025, as a public holiday nationwide, in observance of International Labour Day.
In a public announcement released today, the government notified the general public that May 1st, 2025, will be recognized as International Labour Day, a day dedicated to honoring the contributions of workers globally.
“The General Public is hereby informed that International Labour Day will be observed on Thursday, 1st May 2025. Accordingly, Thursday, 1st May 2025, will be a public holiday nationwide.” the notice reads.
