The Government of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, has announced the availability of 100 online scholarships offered by the United Nations Tourism Online Academy for the 2025/2026 academic year.

This opportunity follows the successful hosting of the Women in Tourism Regional Congress, a collaboration between the Ministry and UN Tourism.

The scholarships cover two critical areas of study:

Tourism and Hospitality Industry Management

Tourism and Hospitality Industry Law

The initiative is designed to enhance the capacity of professionals and stakeholders in the tourism sector, with a particular emphasis on inclusivity and skill development.

Target Beneficiaries

The scholarships are open to a wide range of individuals and groups within the tourism ecosystem, including:

Tourism professionals

Employees or employers in the tourism sector

Entrepreneurs in tourism, hospitality, and the creative industry

Members of tourism communities

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Be employed by a tourism and hospitality institution.

Hold at least a certificate in tourism, hospitality, or a related field.

Possess a minimum of two years of experience in the tourism and hospitality industry.

Be affiliated with a tourism association or organization (priority will be given to these applicants).

Women are strongly encouraged to apply as part of efforts to promote gender equity in the sector.
