Sierra Leone’s foreign minister, Timothy Kabba has confirmed receiving a letter written by the president of the ECOWAS Commission detailing arrangements to allow for the temporary relocation of former President Ernest Bai Koroma who now faces treason charges.
Kabbah said that his government did not however countenance the content of the said letter “because it is a unilateral proposition by the president of the ECOWAS Commission”.
He said the letter also “does not reflect the meeting His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio held recently in Freetown with his colleague West African leaders and the President of the ECOWAS Commission. So we will not countenance it”.
Under the terms of the letter, Koroma was to be flown to Nigeria on 4 January with all legal and administrative procedures against him dropped, keeping his full entitlement as a former President.
EBK should not go anywhere and the government of Sierra Leone should not accept that request.

All of those folks writing gabbage out here, should remember that at one time, when faced with a political decision, ex-President Koroma refused an ECOWAS proposal or recommendation regarding the fate of his own consitutionally elected vice president – ex-Vice President Sam-Sumanah. Now that the table has turned, why should the government accept this ECOWAS proposal regarding the fate of the ex-president?

This ECOWAS chairman has got guts. To address a sovereign state in the audacity posture that he has done is quite amazing. Has he forgotten that the ECOWAS arrangement is a club of equals, and he is putting things as if he is the grand president of the organization put together. This is simply an abuse of power, and he must be shown the limits of his powers. No wonder it is often said that EBK believes everyman has a price; may be he’s gotten the price of the chairman to the extent that he can act ultra vires his chairmanship limits

Some people are just talking rubbish, how can this government grant the unconstitutional request and you are talking about war, there will be no war and if EBK has hand in it let the law take it course. November 2017 EBK turn down ECOWAS because of his unconstitutional removal of the sitting Vice President. The law of the land should be uphold, that why Sierra Leonean voted Prezo Bio for the second term.

Since this former president left office he has been coursing a lot trouble and unrest in the country. Paying people to make the government ungovernable
