The Government of Sierra Leone has released the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) result.

An official announcement is expected today (Friday 27th 2021) at 7pm GMT on SLBC nationwide (TV and Radio).

The Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, David Moinina Sengeh disclosed that the best candidate for this year’s BECE result got aggregate 6. He added that there are more passes than last year.

Here is a breakdown of 2021 BECE:

● Results released to MBSSE =131,822.

● Candidates passing=103,625 i.e 79.89% pass rate (higher than last year).

● No of girls passing=51,232 (79.01%). No of boys passing=52,393 (80.80%).

● Best candidate = Prince Ishmael Bairoh of Naiahcom High School with Aggregate=6.

● Best girl came second – Doris Ramatu Jah of Henritta UBC JSS with Aggregate=7.

● 3 girls in top 4 of BECE this year.

● Top School = Mod Acad School of Excellence – Pass Rate=100%, Average Grade=1.84

● Greater percentage of candidates passed this year than last year.
