The Office of the President has officially announced several high-level appointments, as confirmed by His Excellency, President Brigadier (Rtd) Dr. Julius Maada Bio.
Among the key appointments are:
Mr. John Abu has been appointed as the Resident Minister for the Southern Region.
Ambassador Amara S. Sowa will serve as Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Washington DC, United States of America.
Mdm. Michaela B.E. Swallow has been named Deputy Permanent Representative (Legal) to the United Nations.
Mr. Kalilu Totangi will serve as the Deputy Permanent Representative (Political) to the United Nations.
Mdm. Mamadi Ngobeh Kamara has been appointed as Deputy Ambassador to Paris, France.
In addition to these diplomatic and governmental roles, Prof. Dr. Joe A.D. Alie has been appointed as the Presidential Librarian and Archivist.
The appointments were made public on November 15, 2024, and are expected to play a key role in advancing Sierra Leone’s international and regional engagements.
