In a recent public Notice, the Government of Sierra Leone through the ministry of Transport and Aviation has announced stringent regulations for Sani Abacha Street, effective midnight on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
The street is designated as a NO PARKING ZONE and is off-limits for any vehicle or push cart (omolankey) including public transport vehicles (except for SLPTA licensed operators), between the hours of 6 am to 10 pm.
Loading and off-loading activities will only be permitted during the late-night hours from 10 pm to 5 am. It is crucial for the general public to adhere to these new regulations as defaulters will face the consequence of having their vehicles towed at their own cost.
This move aims to streamline traffic flow and enhance public safety on Sani Abacha Street, marking a significant adjustment in the accessibility and usage of this prominent thoroughfare. The government encourages citizens to be aware of and comply with these changes for the overall betterment of the community.
