The Government of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Transport and Aviation, has announced a 7% decrease in public transportation fares across Freetown and provincial routes. The new fares take effect today, Friday, July 25, 2025.
This decision follows the reduction in the pump price of petrol and diesel from NLe 27.00 to NLe 25.00 per litre. The Ministry collaborated with the Motor Drivers Union and other key stakeholders to ensure the fare adjustments reflect the reduced fuel costs, providing relief to commuters.
