The  government of Sierra Leone through the ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs has issued a strong disclaimer disassociating itself from one Patrick Paul Williams, who has been making false claims on social media that he is a staff of the Ministry.

According to the Ministry, Williams only served briefly as a volunteer under a temporary arrangement to support the Secretariat of the Network of Women Ministers and Parliamentarians (NeWMaP), which operates under the Ministry’s supervision. His engagement, meant to last three months, was abandoned before the probationary period ended.

The Ministry stressed that Williams was never issued an appointment letter, employment status, or identification card, and therefore has no authority to represent the Ministry or carry out transactions on its behalf.

“Patrick Paul Williams is not, and has never been, a staff of the Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs. Anyone who engages with him on behalf of the Ministry does so at his or her own risk,” the statement warned.

Authorities further cautioned Williams to desist immediately from impersonating the Ministry, or risk facing legal consequences for misrepresentation and related offenses.

The public has been advised to verify any official dealings with the Ministry through its recognized offices to avoid being misled.
