The Guma Valley Water Company (GVWC) has issued a public notice informing its valued customers and the general public of a temporary interruption in water supply across Freetown.

According to the notice, the water supply will be shut down today, 3rd April 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., a period of four hours. The interruption is to facilitate urgent repair work on a 22-inch transmission pipeline located at Sesay Drive, Hamilton.

The Guma Valley Water Company expressed regret over the sudden nature of the interruption and has explained that maintenance work is necessary to ensure the continued efficiency and reliability of water distribution within the municipality.

Management sincerely apologises for any inconvenience this temporary interruption may cause and assures valued customers and the general public that every effort will be made to complete the repairs and restore the water supply within the stated timeframe.”

The company has expressed sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption to residents and businesses. It further assured the public that all necessary efforts will be made to complete the repair works promptly and restore the water supply within the stated timeframe.

Customers are advised to make adequate arrangements during the period of interruption.
