The High Court Criminal Session is set to commence in Kabala, Koinadugu District, on Monday, November 11, 2024, according to an announcement from the Judiciary of Sierra Leone.
The session, which will run through November 23, aims to expedite criminal cases that have been committed to the High Court by Magistrate Courts in the Northern Province.
The session, presided over by Justice Abdulai M. Bangura (JSC), is expected to tackle both new trials and pending matters before the court. The Judiciary encourages all involved parties, including complainants, witnesses, and accused individuals with cases before the High Court, to attend court proceedings promptly at 9:00 A.M. each day throughout the session.
This two-week exercise represents a concentrated effort to alleviate case backlogs in the district and accelerate the judicial process for those awaiting trial.
