Housemates Salone Set To Host First Lady Fatima Maada Bio

First Lady of Sierra Leone, Fatima Maada Bio will join participants of the Housemates Salone Reality TV show on on Saturday, 31st October, 2020.

Fatima Maada Bio made the announcement on Thursday, adding that she will visit the house and engage the Housemates on her flagship project “Hands-off Our Girls.”

The “Hands Off Our Girls! Campaign is a global campaign pioneered by the First Lady to fight early child marriage and sexual violence against women and girls in Sierra Leone.

Sierra Leone has one of the highest incidences of rape and sexual assault on the continent. In 2019, President Bio declared a state of emergency due to the high incidences of rape. Since the campaign kicked off, it has recieved nationwide appeal and many World Leaders has lent their voices to it.

First Lady Fatima Maada Bio is further taking the campaign to 22 Housemates who are currently battling for a grand Prize of Two Hundred and Fifty Million Leones (Le250M) and a round trip to Dubai for the Housemates Salone 2 show which kicked off on 14th October.

The organizers of the Reality TV Show, AYV and Africell, have said that the show was created to promote youth empowerment.

“The Housemates will be assigned various tasks to perform that could shape their characters, they will be availed the opportunity to learn new skills, improve on existing ones. They will also be emotionally tested, afforded the space to find panacea to certain human problems and do a host of other things.”, the organizers said.
