Popular Sierra Leonean academic and social media commentator, Dr. John Idriss Lahai announced the publishing of his 15th book.

The book titled “Gender-Responsive Governance in Sierra Leone: The Transitions and Logic of Inequality” investigates gender equality and women’s empowerment in Sierra Leone with key focus on particular women interactions.

Dr. Lahai said that the book draws from extensive fieldwork and original multidisciplinary research methods looking at the history and impact of inequality in Sierra Leone.

“The book will be of interest to students and researchers studying women and gender studies, economics, international development, sociology, and political science and international relations,” Dr. Lahai said.

The book is divided into three parts. The first part of the book looks at Theories, Concepts and Issues; the second part looks at the Logic of Inequality in The Bounded Spaces of Sexuality, Power and Belonging and the final part focusing on the Logic and Transitions to Gender-responsive Governance, Equality and Empowerment.

The Sierra Leone academic is believed by many to be passionate about education and scholarship.
