The National President and Chairman of the United Council of Imams in Sierra Leone, Dr. Muhammad Habib Sheriff, represented his country on the two days International Islamic Conference organized by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance at the Holy City of Makah.

The Islamic conference, which took place on August 13 – 14, came as part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to boost cooperation among international religious leaders towards reducing acts of violence.

Titled “Communication with the Departments of Religious Affairs, Ifta and Sheikhdoms in the World,” the event was attended by 150 religious leaders and muftis from 85 countries.

They addressed topics relating to extremism and terrorism, as well as promoting tolerance and coexistence among people.
