An Indian National who left Sierra Leone for DRI Mumbai has been allegedly arrested by officers of DRI Mumbai for possession of unwanted substance in luggage that have been tested to be cocaine.
The Asian News International reported that, officers of DRI Mumbai apprehended one Indian national who had travelled from Sierra Leone to Mumbai. Examination of his luggage resulted in recovery of two packets having white powdery substance in his possession.
The substance, on testing with field testing kit, tested positive for cocaine. A total of 4 kg cocaine having illicit market value of approx Rs 40 Crores was seized under the provisions of the NDPS, Act 1985.
The accused has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
