After he was summoned by the house of Parliament, the Minister of Internal Affairs David Panda Noah appealed to members of parliament to give him more time to put together all relevant information required regarding the passport contract the government and Netpage have.

Deputy Leader of Government Business Hon. Bashiru Silikie made this plea to the house stating that the minister meet him in his office.

“The Minister of Internal Affairs came to my office and explained that there are some technical problems in the Ministry and that he is not fully briefed with the passport contract and that he will come at the next adjourned date to fully explain to Members of Parliament. Having explained and listened to him I decided to give him the go-ahead to come at the next adjourned date to explatwenty-fiveamentarians about the passport contract and the twenty-five United States dollars airport security tax each passenger is paying”.

Deputy Leader of Government Business Hon. Bashiru Silikie made this statement after the Speaker of Parliament Hon. Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu asked him the reason for the absence of the Minister of Internal Affairs.

He added that many concerns have come from the public about the high cost and quality of the passport and the US$25 airport security tax passengers are paying. He said the Minister has assured him that he will appear on the next adjourned date to fully brief the MPs.
