He reiterated the commitment of the New Direction Government, under President Julius Maada Bio, to strengthening healthcare services and upgrading medical infrastructure across the country.
Dr. Jalloh also inspected ongoing road construction linking key parts of Eastern Sierra Leone to the Guinean border, describing the projects as transformational investments that will boost trade, enhance regional integration, and support local economic development.
He directed the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) and CHICO to address outstanding issues, including the construction of a mortuary at the Kailahun Government Hospital.
Briefing the Vice President, SLRA Director-General, Mr. Momodu, said the road project is currently 78 percent complete, with the ongoing phase expected to be completed by March 2026. He added that the second phase will extend from Buedu to the Guinea border and further connect to Liberia, significantly improving cross-border connectivity in the region.
Minister of State, Hon. Gbessay J.J. Ngobeh, commended CHICO for the quality of work delivered so far and noted that improved road infrastructure has enhanced movement, economic activity, and livelihoods in beneficiary communities.
