In a statement, Dr. Jalloh expressed his pride, saying, “I am extremely proud not only as the Vice President but as a citizen of Sierra Leone to witness President Julius Maada Bio triumphantly flying our flag at the highest regional platform.” He emphasized the importance of this milestone for the nation and the region.
The Vice President commended President Bio’s leadership and vision, particularly his focus on strategic collaboration and economic cooperation among ECOWAS member states. “His continued commitment to leveraging ECOWAS as a vehicle for development is commendable,” Dr. Jalloh remarked.
He also conveyed optimism that President Bio would receive robust support from fellow leaders as he addresses the pressing economic, social, and security challenges facing West Africa.

During his speech, the President called for deeper regional integration, highlighting the need to harness West Africa’s natural resources and youthful population through coordinated economic efforts.
President Bio outlined Sierra Leone’s alignment with key ECOWAS and African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) protocols, highlighting several initiatives aimed at enhancing regional trade, including product registration under the ECOWAS Trade Liberalisation Scheme, modernization of customs systems, and the rollout of biometric ID cards to facilitate mobility across the region.
Political observers have noted that Vice President Juldeh Jalloh, who is a bilingual political scientist and governance expert, will play a vital role in supporting President Bio’s agenda. His extensive diplomatic experience and previous service in ECOWAS and Sahelian states are expected to be crucial in building trust and navigating the political landscape.
