Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, called for urgent action on domestic revenue mobilization during his address at the closing of the Financing for Development Forum 4 (FFD4).

His comments followed a presentation reaffirming the country’s commitment to the Seville Compromiso 2025 and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Co-chairing a multi-stakeholder roundtable with Estonian President Alar Karis, Dr. Jalloh summarized key discussions aimed at addressing the challenges faced by developing nations.

He stated, “The call to action is clear and urgent: Developing Countries must look inward to unlock domestic opportunities for revenue mobilization and private sector investment to respond to the acute challenges of limited ODA, debt distress, global and regional crises coupled with climate change impact.”

Dr. Jalloh stressed on the importance of the FFD4 as a platform for sharing strategies to navigate a rapidly changing global environment.

He expressed gratitude to the Spanish government and the United Nations for their efforts in organizing the conference, adding, “I want to thank the Spanish government and the United Nations for a successful conference, and the Sierra Leone delegation for making the country very proud at Seville.”
