The Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Juldeh Jalloh holds a very important meeting with the Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (SLCCIA) to encourage them to play a proactive role in the Feed Salone Initiative of President Bio.
The Vice President and his government have been working tirelessly to make sure that the President’s Big Five game-changers are achieved and in doing that several meetings and engagements have been done.
The purpose of this meeting was to first welcome the SLCCIA to their initiative and secondly to strengthen the dialogue between the private and public sectors.
The Country’s private sectors are in severe collapse with taxes and rates initiated regularly. Most private businesses are going bankrupt due to taxes and they are forced to charge their customers additional fees. The public sector however are moving into privatisation more recently with many Government departments moving from public to private. This shift has caused many Sierra Leoneans to not benefit from public service like they are supposed to.
The Vice President hope SLCCIA will bridge the gap through dialogue between the public and private sectors which he thought his two initiatives were Instrumental to the ongoing development in Sierra Leone.
Vice President Juldeh Jalloh said that the discussion was fruitful, and the takeaways are for the SLCCIA to have a technical working meeting with the National Investment Board and Ministry of Trade of Industry.
He also prompted the leadership team of the SLCCIA to keep abreast of the investment landscape and improve corporate governance within their institution.
