Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has given a highlight of his visit to the republic of guinea following the fire outbreak recently.

The Vice President led the Sierra Leone delegation on the pursuit to render medical assistance to the injured individuals due to the devastating incident. He maintained that, they have put mechanisms in place to ensure that the medical assistance to the neighbouring country.

Thus, he stated; I travelled to Guinea to deliver a special message of solidarity to President Mamady Doumbouya from His Excellency Julius Maada Bo following the tragic fire and destruction of the oil depot in Conakry on Sunday evening.

I led a high-level delegation comprising of our Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Heads of the National Disaster Management Agency, Petroleum Regulatory Agency and a team of medical personnel. We put in place interim architecture to support Guinea’s access to petroleum products.

Sierra Leone has donated three lorry loads of medical supplies to treat burn victims. This morning, 150 lorries travelled to Freetown to collect fuel to take back to Conakry.

Sierra Leone’s gesture and commitment to stand with the government and people of Guinea has been well received with kind words of appreciation from President Mamady Doumbouya, the Prime Minister Bernard Goumou and other senior government officials.
