Special envoy of entertainment, ambassador Amara Denis Turay popularly known as Kao Denero has recently received an award for his restless service to Sierra Leone entertainment industry.
Being the first Entertainment Ambassador in Sierra Leone takes a good courage and restless efforts. The ambassador has over the months since he resumed his position as the ambassador, has had challenges in the industry with colleague entertainers.
In the first few months in his office, some key members of the executive body tendered their resignation to the body. Their resignation from was a big blow to the ambassador as they were key members that held the executive board. Another challenge the ambassador was facing and still faces is having square pegs in his office. There are people in the executive body who are taking little or no part in the betterment of the entertainment industry. Others are sending these blames to the ambassador as being the cause of the downfall of the industry.
In spite all these side talks and bashing from the industry, the ambassador, Kao Denero has never lost hope in his office as he strongly believes with time, colleagues could possibly see what they didn’t see before because of what the Kao considers “hate or envy” for his position by some entertainers.
As hard work always pays off, the ambassador, Kao Denero was presented with SLAAM President’s choice award from the United States of America for Community Service.
