According to reports, a devastating fire outbreak at the State House in Central Freetown has completely destroyed the offices of Press Secretary Yusuf Keketoma Sandi and  Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella.

The fire, which erupted around 4:00 p.m. today on the 4th Floor of the West Wing, consumed both offices entirely—leaving nothing behind.

According to preliminary reports, the National Fire Force and law enforcement agencies were alerted at approximately 4:15 p.m. Firefighters were swiftly deployed and began tackling the blaze, which had by then spread from the 4th to the 3rd Floor. As of 7:30 p.m., firefighting efforts were still ongoing, with emergency personnel working relentlessly to contain the flames and prevent further damage.

Authorities have confirmed that while the Office of the President on the 2nd Floor remains untouched, the inferno has wreaked irreversible havoc on the upper levels of the West Wing. The extent of the loss is still being assessed, but sources on the ground report that nothing survived in the offices of the two top officials.

Multiple government agencies—including the Office of National Security, the Sierra Leone Police, the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces, and the Guma Valley Water Company—have joined the emergency response, providing critical support to ensure the fire is brought under control.

The exact cause of the blaze remains unknown, and investigations are expected to commence once the area is secured and declared safe. In the meantime, the public is being urged to stay calm and await verified updates through official channels.
