Former Minister of Transportation and Aviation during the erstwhile President of the Republic of Sierra Leone Alhaji Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay has been ordered to pay $135,000 (One Hundred and Thirty-five Thousand United States Dollar) to the State in the next 14 days for the sales of State property and fraudulent grants which were among other matters of the Commission of Inquiry.
According to notice released from the office of the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice dated 1st July 2022, it was clearly stated that Alhaji Kemoh Sesay has got bearly a fortnight to pay the money into the Commission of Inquiry special recovery Bank of Sierra Leone Account.
After several investigations have been done by the COI, the Attorney-General has demanded that Alhaji Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay to refund to the State the sum of USD 135,000 for the fraudulent grant and sales of property situated lying and being at and known as nursery land at Regent Road, Regent, Hill Station, Freetown, which formed part of the subject of the Commission of Inquiry 2018.
These monies according to the Minister are to be paid into the Commission of Inquiry Special Recovery Bank of Sierra Leone Account within fourteen days of the receipt of letters served. He Furthered that, further legal steps will be adopted to enforce compliance of the said order.
