The First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Mrs. First Lady Fatima Maada Bio has safely landed in Kenya to a grand reception courtesy of her counterpart in the East African country, First Lady Mrs. Margaret Gakuo Kenyatta.
Mrs. Bio is on an official state visit in Kenya with her husband, His Excellency the President of Sierra Leone on the invitation of the President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta.
Following a grand state reception ceremony for Sierra Leone’s First Family, Mrs. Bio and her Kenyan counterpart has held bilateral engagements on mutual interests.
The two First Ladies exchanged pleasantries on their inspiring efforts towards women and children’s empowerment in the sister nations.
Mrs. Kenyatta expressed admiration over the success stories of Mrs. Bio on the Hands Off Our Girls Campaign, while expressing hopes that their interventions will enhance gender equality in both countries.
Mrs. Bio equally lauded the efforts of Mrs. Kenyatta in the promotion of sports (marathon) and her advocacy towards mothers and child wellness in the East African nation.
The two sisters have already visited a few locations in Nairobi including a Kids Zone Company that manufactures furniture from waste products.
They are both board members of the World Wildlife and Conservation Organization of which Prince Williams is also a member
