This morning, the former President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma, drove from his hometown of Makeni to the residence of the British High Commissioner in Freetown. The former President was in the capital to sign the Book of Condolence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

On his return to Makeni, the statesman stopped over at the Embassy of the United States (US) of America and the European Union (EU) Delegation in Sierra Leone. Since he left office, the former president has maintained a strong cordial relationship with the diplomatic community both in his country and in countries where he has led African Union and ECOWAS elections observation missions.

His stopover visits to Ambassador Reiner of the United States and Ambassador Muller of the EU Delegation were a gesture of appreciation for their continued support of Sierra Leone’s peace and development aspirations.
