Massive flooding took over the street of Freetown after 3 hours drop of heavy rain and caused huge traffic and disaster despite the huge amount of tax payers money given SLRA for flood mitigation.
All the major streets in Freetown especially Pademba Road, Dundas Street, Sanda Street, Kissy Road and Fourah Bay Road were flooded and caused huge traffic.
According to report, four billion Leones (Le 4,000,000,000) was assigned to Sierra Leone Road Authority (SLRA) for flood mitigation by RMFA.
Freetownians are calling on SLRA to account for the Le 4billion that was assigned to them for the flood mitigation. According to them, Freetown City Council (FCC) has been playing great role in preventing and mitigating flooding under the Leadership of Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr. In that regard, they were expecting the Government of Sierra Leone to fund FCC to continue the flood mitigation.
