In a significant act of corporate social responsibility, Leone Rock Metal Group (LRMG) has donated 1,200 bags of cement to Mabojama town, Kpanga Chiefdom, Pujehun District.
The contribution will support the construction of a new school, the Mabojama Community Primary School, which will feature six classrooms, office space, a store, and wash facilities.
This infrastructure will provide children with a safe and accessible learning environment, particularly beneficial during the rainy season when educational access is often disrupted.
The donation ceremony highlighted LRMG’s commitment to investing in community development. Bashir Koroma, CSR Coordinator for LRMG, emphasized the company’s dedication to supporting Sierra Leoneans in essential areas of need.
“LRMG wants to ensure that the felt needs of Sierra Leoneans are catered for, and the company will continue to give back to the people in different developmental areas and to various communities even if they are not our operational communities,” he added “LRMG is passionate about building a sustainable environment, supplementing government efforts to provide essential infrastructure for sustainable growth.”
Deputy Section Chief Sumaila Mallah expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the community, sharing the challenges children faced in accessing education, particularly during adverse weather conditions. “This gesture is timely and immensely helpful to Mabojama and neighboring communities,” he remarked.
Hon. Sheikh Abu Bakarr Kemokai, who initially advocated for this support, extended his thanks to LRMG and its management. He commended the company’s commitment to giving back to communities beyond its operational areas, recognizing the positive impact of their outreach in fostering development across Sierra Leone.
The Mabojama Community Primary School project represents LRMG’s broader vision of sustainable community advancement and educational access for all.
