In a significant gesture of support, the Office of the First Lady received a 40ft (Forty Feet) Container packed with vital medical supplies from the Life for Relief Development Organization.

The donation was intended to bolster the newly constructed 34 Military Hospital Complex in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

During the ceremony, Madam Fanta Smith, the Coordinator of Life for Relief Development, expressed gratitude to the First Lady for her commendable efforts in spearheading such a significant project for the betterment of the community. Smith further conveyed her organization’s delight in presenting a container filled with various medical supplies and equipment, intending to complement the First Lady’s endeavors in modernizing healthcare facilities for the people of Sierra Leone.

Mr. Hassan Lahai, the Technical Adviser of Life for Relief Development, acknowledged that this was not the first instance of the organization supporting the Office of the First Lady. He reaffirmed their dedication to continuing their support for the people of Sierra Leone through the remarkable efforts of the First Lady. Mr. Lahai expressed admiration for the First Lady’s extensive work across the country, particularly noting the complete overhaul and transformation of the 34 Military Hospital into an ultra-modern healthcare facility.

Hassan Lahai, the Technical Adviser of the organization, disclosed that this wasn’t their first donation to support the Office of the First Lady’s exceptional work. He reiterated their commitment to continuously aid the aspirations of the people of Sierra Leone through the remarkable First Lady and emphasized their plans to further enhance and contribute to the development of the health sector in the country.

We are highly impressed with the First Lady’s initiatives and commend her for the transformative overhaul of the 34 Military Hospital into a state-of-the-art facility,” Lahai stated.

James Bampia Bundu, the Director of Communications in the Office of the First Lady, graciously accepted the donated items on behalf of the First Lady. He expressed deep appreciation for the intervention of the Life for Relief Development Organization, encouraging them to persist in supporting such noble causes. Bundu acknowledged the timeliness of the donation, as it would greatly facilitate the smooth operation of the hospital.

“Nurses and Doctors can be more productive when the required medical supplies are available,” he stated, adding that, they will also monitir to see that, the actual beneficiaries get the supply and it is used for its actual purpose.
