The President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Julius Maada Bio, received Letters of Recall and Credence from two new ambassadors: Ms. Norma Sánchez Águila of the Republic of Cuba and Mr. Abdelhafid Hachem of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.

During the diplomatic event held at statehouse on Thursday, 5th June, 2025, President Bio expressed his enthusiasm for strengthening diplomatic relations with both nations.

He stated, “We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to enhance our diplomatic relations and foster mutual cooperation for the advancement of our respective nations.”

The arrival of the ambassadors notably marks a new chapter in Sierra Leone’s foreign relations, as the country seeks to build partnerships that contribute to its national development goals.
