The Sierra Leone Maritime Administration has received a new engine-powered search and rescue boat that is worth over $200,000.
The procurement was done through the The GEF and UNDP funded coastal risk project. The United Nations development program (UNDP) handed over the boat to Sierra Leone through the Maritime Administration for live saving response at sea.
The Boat came at the right time when the administration is challenged with issues at sea.
The boat is believed to be of a great importance to the Sierra Leone maritime. It is to serve as a quick aid to issues cropping at sea and add to the work in promoting effective and efficient work
The Maritime Administration appreciated the gift and promised that the boat will be used for its actual purpose at all times.
