Sierra Leonean-born, Matina Elizabeth Doherty from the Lumley community is set to represent Sierra Leone at this year’s Miss Supermodel worldwide 2023 to be held in India.
The Sierra Leonean model and winner of the Miss Best Model Sierra Leone has taken part in a good number of pageantry where her performance has been judged having competed with top models in a tight race.
Her representation was confirmed by the organizers of the Miss Supermodel worldwide 2023, who shared photos of Matina Elizabeth Doherty on their social media handles.
The second-year student of I.P.A.M. University of Sierra Leone pursuing Business Administration is big on her journey to greatness as she strongly disclosed that she has plans to compete for Miss Universe soon.
Matina Elizabeth Doherty started her pageantry journey in 2019 with a number of achievements in her portfolio. This includes Winner, Miss Krootown Road in 2020, Miss Babara United in 2020 and Miss Shams in 2019 (1st Runner up), among other titles.
She has also got plans in her advocacy role built recently to have a platform that will be geared towards supporting young people and advocating against drug abuse and drug misuse respectively.
As Miss Best Model Sierra Leone, She said, “I am humbled and honoured to have won the Miss Best Model Sierra Leone, I hope to work with healthcare workers to start up my campaign which I strongly promoted which is drug abuse, I hope to start Anti Drug media campaign to raise awareness about using unprescribed drugs among young people in the country.”
