The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education has debunked the fake notice about the NPSE being postponed, and announced that the West African Examination Council (WAEC) will conduct the 2022 National Primary School Examination(NPSE) as scheduled, on Saturday 7th May 2022.
The Ministry notes that this is the first public examination the pupils will be subjected to and therefore urges all school authorities, including teachers, to support them to give off their best.
The MBSSE stated that it is aware of the ongoing protest by the Teachers Solidarity Movement, advocating for improved conditions of service, and assures the public that efforts are being made by the Ministry and the Sierra Leone Teachers Union to resolve the issue.
The Ministry assures that negotiation of Terms and condition of service for teachers with the Trade Group Negotiating Council will commence today, and appeal to all teachers to return to work and refrain from engaging in act that may impede the process.
