The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) has received from the World Bank a sum amounting to $ 5 million for the transformation process on-going, information that was recently confirmed by the World Bank Management.

The technical staff of the World Bank’s Education team and senior leaders of the Ministry have on the 13th June, 2023 met to discuss the details of the financing.

The meeting was a successful one and among other things, they agreed to support examinations and assessments by planning to procure a securitized examination paper printer.

This is in line with improving the quality of education and preventing of leakage. Now, all papers including for NPSE and BECE are printed in Nigeria and Ghana respectively according to them, adding that, the new Education Act allowed for them to create Universal Leaner IDs which will help them accelerate the operational element of that vision.

The Minister for the Basic Education, David Monina Sengeh disclosed that, he spent time with his colleague Minister of Tertiary Education, Alpha Tejan Wurie in fixing issues and strategizing ways for a sustainable outcome.

“I spent two hours with Professor Alpha Wurie- Minister of Tertiary and Higher Education to envision the next phase of our education journey and it’s truly exciting!” he maintained.
