The Ministry Of Basic And Senior Secondary Education – MBSSE has concluded its quarterly sectoral meeting with other development partners as part of Section 4.6 page 13 of the Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) Policy 2023.
The meeting brought together partners that work in the Education sector and staff of the Ministry, with the leadership in attendance including the Minister, Mr Conrad Sackey was organised in order for partners to share their successes, challenges, recommendations and other relevant related issues.
They maintained that, it is worthy to note that there are areas of convergence between the Education Sector Plan 2022-2026 and the NGO Policy 2023 sighting one convergent point as the need for strengthening governance, management, and accountability of the Education sector as well as strengthening partnerships in support of learning and work readiness.
They revealed that, the NGO Policy 2023 speaks to indicators that support the fulfilment of the above objectives (objectives 5&8) by a way of enhancing harmonious partnership Cooperation and collaboration between the Government of Sierra Leone and NGOs, ensuring mutual trust, confidence, and transparency within a strengthened partnership framework, promoting the efficient and optimal delivery of development assistance and services, monitoring and tracking resources to ensure they are used for the intended purposes among others.
The NGO Coordination Desk at the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education coordinated Power Point presentations of all the partners present on their activities and programs. Each presentation was followed up with interactive sessions by a way of questions and answers for the purposes of clarifications.
The meeting was climaxed with the distribution of Certificates of Participation to partners for actively supporting the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education in the 2023 Annual Celebration of Education week in Bo. Minister Conrad Sackey consented and joyfully led the distribution.
