In a parliamentary setting on Tuesday 27th February 2024, Hon. Abdul Karima Bangura made a complaint to the House of Parliament accusing Forest Rangers of killing two people in Tambaka village, Karene district.

He told Parliament that two people were killed during a raid by Forest Rangers in an illicit mining place in Tambaka village, Karene district.

He furthered that the deceased killed by the Forest Rangers during the raid at an illegal mining site in the village are still in the hands of the Sierra Leone Police awaiting burial.

He called on the House to set up a committee to urgently investigate what he referred to as unlawful killings of them. “The people are suffering in the hands of these Rangers,” he lamented.

Meanwhile, the leader of the main opposition APC, Hon. Abdul Kargbo assured his party colleague MP of support to prepare a letter of complaint which the Speaker of Parliament Hon. Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu had asked him, to write to three committees including Agriculture, Mines and the Environment for appropriate action.
