Member of Parliament Calls For Investigation of Illegal Killing by Forest Rangers

In a parliamentary setting on Tuesday 27th February 2024, Hon. Abdul Karima Bangura made a complaint to the House of Parliament accusing Forest Rangers of killing two people in Tambaka village, Karene district.

He told Parliament that two people were killed during a raid by Forest Rangers in an illicit mining place in Tambaka village, Karene district.

He furthered that the deceased killed by the Forest Rangers during the raid at an illegal mining site in the village are still in the hands of the Sierra Leone Police awaiting burial.

He called on the House to set up a committee to urgently investigate what he referred to as unlawful killings of them. “The people are suffering in the hands of these Rangers,” he lamented.

Meanwhile, the leader of the main opposition APC, Hon. Abdul Kargbo assured his party colleague MP of support to prepare a letter of complaint which the Speaker of Parliament Hon. Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu had asked him, to write to three committees including Agriculture, Mines and the Environment for appropriate action.

This is total a very big lie and a total blackmail sierraloaded, to start with the forest guards do not have guns and we’re never trained to use guns of any kind. Some of the information you are given out have to be properly screened. The same people who are claiming that the forest guards are not doing there jobs are now forming up stories and allegations against them. This is not fear. Sierra Leoneans, let us try to focus on the destructions these miners are causing to our environment , foreigners coming from Ghana, camping in these communities, paying pitant to few men, polluting the water with harmful chemicals causing numbers of deaths for or people, undermining our environment, see the increasing rate of cancer in our country etc. they don’t dear try it in there own country or else they will face death penalty. We need to be very vigilant of our environment. Sierra Leone is their new sport for destruction. Government need to focus on these people, coming here in the name of investor… to destroy our beloved country. It is a very big lie to say forest Guards shut and killed people. Where did you even get this fake headline picture from? the game guards are not armed neither are they even dressed like that. People should stop spreading negative and lie news to the public. Sierraloaded you must try to focus and be mindful of the kind of news you share to the public.

This is total madness in Sierra Leone. Police officers are killing civilians and nothing comes out of it not to talk about forest rangers whom just got training yesterday and where give guns . Anyway we are waiting for the outcome.
