Milton Margai Technical University expels 3 Students and Rusticates 17 Others for allegedly harassing a female student.

The expulsion and rustication came following the alleged harassment of a female presidential aspirants in the 2021 cancelled Milton Margai Student Union Election.

Students have however raised concerns about the disciplinary actions taken against certain students who are accused of involving in harassing a female student.

Students have accused the Principal of the Institution, Dr. Philip Kanu of intimidating students based on fraternal differences, stating that the Principal is actively involved in fraternal activities on campus.

The story of the alleged harassment of a female aspirant gained public attention of which there were calls for the investigation of the matter and for the punishment of culpable students.

Following the investigation, the Institution has expelled 3 students and expelled 17 others, something which many other students have described as unfair.

Students have called on the administration to release the findings of the investigation on which such disciplinary action was taken.
