The Goderich Campus of Milton Margai Technical University became a hub of healthcare activity this week, hosting a two-day medical outreach program in collaboration with Health Care Sierra Leone USA and the Ministry of Health.

The outreach, held on February 25th and 26th, 2025, provided essential medical services to staff, students, and the wider Goderich community. From 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day, attendees received vital healthcare support, reinforcing the university’s commitment to community development.

The program began with an opening prayer, followed by a warm welcome from the Deputy Vice Chancellor and Director of Academic Affairs, who emphasized the importance of partnerships in addressing healthcare challenges.

Dr. Pieh of Health Care Sierra Leone USA provided an overview of the organization’s mission and its dedication to improving healthcare access. He highlighted recent successful outreach programs in Kono, Makeni, and other regions, showcasing the organization’s commitment to serving underserved communities.

Professor Philip John Kanu, Vice Chancellor and Principal of Milton Margai Technical University, delivered a heartfelt closing address, expressing gratitude to Health Care Sierra Leone USA for their dedication to public health. He specifically acknowledged Dr. Rogers for his crucial role in coordinating the event.

Professor Kanu urged the medical team to consider making the outreach a continuous engagement, emphasizing the ongoing need for accessible healthcare in the region. He pledged the university’s support for future collaborations to ensure sustained healthcare support for the community.
