In response to popular journalist Amadu Lamrana Bah’s claims regarding disagreements among government officials over credit for the recently signed US$480 million MCC Compact Program, Minister of Information and Communications, Chernor Bah, emphasized unity within the government.
CeeBah addressed Bah’s post, stating, “Na so ‘serious disagreement’ don look now? My brother, once again you seem to be interested in generating controversy where none exists.”
He reiterated that President Julius Maada Bio acknowledged the collective efforts of his team during a recent reception in Washington, DC, noting, “my team is thanking me, but they did the work.”
The Minister stressed that the term “TEAM” is crucial, highlighting that the government’s success is a collaborative effort. “As a Sierra Leonean, you should take credit too, and that won’t amount to serious disagreement. Government is not one person,” he added.
CeeBah recognized the contributions of various officials, stating that Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh played a significant role in managing the intricate process of securing the MCC Compact.
He also noted the efforts of Chief Minister Dr. David Sengeh, who helped lift a congressional hold on the Compact, along with the Anti-Corruption Commission’s consistent work in passing the corruption scorecard.
“The Finance Minister managed the economy, which is key to this,” CeeBah explained, commending the efforts of the MCC office, led by Ndeye Koroma, for their exemplary work.
He concluded by reinforcing the message of unity: “We are one government. One incredible team of Sierra Leoneans assembled by our visionary leader to deliver for the people of Sierra Leone. You also contributed by your reporting.
