One of Sierra Leone’s popular whistleblower Dr. John Idris Lahai has accused the minister of Basic Education of recruiting his brother-in-law as project coordinator for the Free Quality Education (FQE).
Dr. Lanai’s report disclosed that at the time of the recruitment, Mr. Ambrose Sesay (brother-in-law) was not qualified to hold such a position.
He went further and disclose that, on the 26th of January 2021, World Bank and other donors withdraw their No Objection on the recruitment of Mr. Ambrose Sesay and his supervisor was the minister of Basic Education Dr. David Sengeh.
“Dr. David Sengeh (Minister of MBSSE) also recruited his brother-in-law, Mr. Ambrose Sesay as National Project Coordinator Sierra Leone Free Education Project (Multi-Donor Trust Fund). At the time of his recruitment, Mr. Ambrose Sesay was NOT qualified to hold this position. World Bank withdrew their No Objection on the recruitment of Mr. Ambrose Sesay (The Minister’s Brother in Law) on the 26th of January 2021 for obvious reasons.
But he was still working in this capacity after all donor agencies withdrew their no objections; and guess the name of his supervisor: Dr. David Sengeh. Guess their relationship: they’re brothers-in-law”.
