Isata Mahoi, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Gender and Children’s Affairs, has expressed the ministry’s commitment to supporting the First Lady, H.E Fatima Bio, in her mission to combat violence against women and girls in the nation.

This commitment follows a post by the First Lady, detailing her involvement in the 77th United Nations General Assembly.

At the event, she championed a UN resolution proposing November 18th as a global day dedicated to the prevention of and recovery from sexual exploitation, abuse, and violence. The ministry plans to observe this day as scheduled this year.

To achieve this aim, Minister Mahoi emphasized the importance of enhancing collaborative efforts across various sectors. She affirmed, “We are with you, her excellency. Together we will end violence against women and girls.”
