Sierra Leone’s Minister of Health, Dr. Austin Demby, had an engagement with the new WHO-Afro Regional Director Prof. Janabe to discuss ways of improving and developing the healthcare in the country.

During the Engagement Both leaders agreed on improving healthcare using the following: Firstly, Delivery of health services using the Life-Stages approach with Patient/Client-Centered Care as the locus of engagement.

Secondly, the Health Security built on a platform of Primary Health Care that aims to take health care to as close to the people as possible.

And Digital transformation that allows for modernized data collection, analyses, and visualization for informed decision making.

Finally, Dr. Demby, stated that, ‘’ All of this is part of innovative idea of transforming healthcare not only for the people of Sierra Leone, but also for others on the African continent.’’
