Minister of Tourism Nabeela Tunis and SLPP East Rural District Chairman Dr. Eldred Taylor have joined forces to support grassroots initiatives in the East Rural District, aligning with President Julius Maada Bio’s Big Five Agenda.

On Saturday, December 28, the duo donated 65 bags of rice and a significant monetary contribution to the district’s Elders Council, Constituency Executives, and various support groups.

During the event, held in the East Rural District, SLPP District Secretary-General Abdul Sahid Kargbo (known as Orkapz) praised the leaders’ dedication. “Their continued generosity speaks volumes about their commitment to the community,” Kargbo said.

SLPP Elders Council member Mohamed Sandoka Kamara underscored the political importance of such gestures, stating that his efforts in awarding party symbols, as instructed by President Bio, have boosted party votes in the district. Kamara urged for increased visibility of the district in government appointments, crediting the donation with bolstering grassroots morale.

Former parliamentary aspirant Madam Augusta Foday Kallon echoed these sentiments, noting the donation’s potential to positively impact the district’s political landscape.

Dr. Taylor described the initiative as a testament to his and Madam Tunis’s shared commitment to development. “This is a reflection of the principles behind President Bio’s Big Five Agenda. We are committed to working transparently with our stakeholders to foster development,” Taylor stated.

Minister Tunis, lauded for her consistent support for the district, emphasized the importance of unity and grassroots collaboration in achieving sustainable development.

The initiative highlights the collaborative efforts of Madam Tunis and Dr. Taylor to strengthen the district, demonstrating a practical approach to President Bio’s agenda.
