Minister Kenyeh Barlay of Planning and Economy Development has on the 17th April , 2024 boosted the country’s Development amidst Strategic Partnership discussions with Canadian High Commissioner to Sierra Leone.
This event was seen as a bold move to bolster effective partnership and development coordination in Sierra Leone where Minister Barlay welcomed Martine Moreau, the esteemed High Commissioner of Canada to Sierra Leone.
This happened in a high-stakes courtesy visit made by the commissioner which ensured the discussion on development.
They delebrated on the recent IDPS Regional Dialogue on Coastal West Africa held in Accra, Ghana, Sierra Leone’s chairing role in the g7+ and the Security Council observation status, support to agriculture development program the possibility to access funds from FinDev Canada for bankable projects in the private sector,financing feasibility studies for the development of bankable projects , financing the MTNDP 2024-2030, the Plan’s targets and results framework, sparked engaging dialogues, paving the way for future collaboration.
The Minister disclosed plans for the proposed g7+ Officials meeting in Freetown, laying the groundwork for strategic alliances and shared initiatives. The spotlight also shone on Sierra Leone’s ambitious agenda regarding the Big Five and the meticulous implementation of the MTNDP 2024-2030 (Medium-Term National Development Plan), underscoring the nation’s commitment to sustainable growth and progress.
