In a statement during the handing over of office ceremony to the new Resident Minister of the North-west Region on the 11 August 2023, the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry explains there move as ministry in addressing Abacha street traders issue.
“We have met with the women in Free Town who were pushed to the street and police remove them. We make sure that the women went back to the street but by September they will go the Victoria Market,” she said.
She made this statement in way of highlighting some of the work of the ministry in the short period of one week.
She added that they met onion shortage but it is now available in the market.
The Minister also thanked the president for appointing her to the position and noted that her father is originally from Kambia and mother from Port Loko.
