The Ministry of Basic Education has introduced three new subjects for pupils in Junior Secondary School, thereby adding three subjects to the academic curriculum of Junior Secondary School pupils.
The new subjects which are Civic Education, Sexual & Comprehensive Safety and Environmental Education will be taught from primary to JSS Three level.
The introduction of the new subjects, according to the Minister of Basic Education David Moinina Sengeh , are part of government’s effort to give quality education to primary and junior secondary school learners.
The Minister said that the new subjects will expose students to new concepts about environmental protection, sexual productivity and civic duty, adding that such education will prepare the kids to become good citizens.
