The Ministry of Health and Sanitation through Integrated Health Projects Administration Unit (IHPAU) with aid from Islamic Development Bank has on Wednesday, 8th December 2021 set in motion a start-up workshop for the Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health Strengthening Project at Bintumani Hotel Conference Room.
The $20.5m project will be invested to yield tangible returns in reducing maternal, neonatal and child morbidity, mortality and disability.
The project start-up workshop aspires to educate project teams on the scope and policies of the project, designated responsibilities and continuing prioritization of project implementation.
The project spotlights Pujehun, Moyamba and Karene as key beneficiary districts of the investment where three hospitals will be constructed and equipped in each, provide essential medicines and supply at service delivery points, strengthen Health Management Information Systems, Rehabilitate and equip the Obstetric Fistula Center at Bo Government Hospital and human resource development.
