The Ministry of Lands Housing and Country Planning has expressed concerns over the continuous illegal occupation of government lands in the Western Area Rural.

The Ministry pointed out that the parcel of land which situate on the left axis of Regent Area, spanning from Number 2 Village through to Kossoh Village are State Lands under the provisions of Section 31 of the State Land Act No. 29 of 1960.

The Ministry also noted occupants are in the habit of selling State Land in the name of owning it as private property.

The Ministry warned that steps will be taken to recover all State Lands from illegal occupants, adding that occupants must be ready to evidence of claims on those lands.
