The Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS) has strengthened its emergency response and health service delivery with the acquisition of a new fleet of vehicles, including 16 ambulances and 78 motorcycles.

According to the ministry X account said the vehicles were provided through partnerships with the Global Fund, the World Bank, and the World Health Organization (WHO).

The newly received ambulances and motorcycles are set to improve the country’s emergency preparedness, prevention, and response systems, while also enhancing general healthcare delivery, particularly in hard-to-reach areas.

The donation is expected to address the significant challenges in accessing timely medical care, especially in rural communities, where transportation barriers have often hindered swift health interventions.

Health officials have praised the support from the Global Fund, the World Bank, and WHO, emphasizing that the vehicles will be instrumental in improving health outcomes, reducing response times, and ensuring better preparedness for future health crises.

This donation is part of broader efforts to strengthen Sierra Leone’s health infrastructure and ensure more equitable access to essential services nationwide.
